There are 2 main reasons:
- Stress
- Sedentary lifestyle
I have continued to help a lot of patients experiencing pain or stiffness in their back caused from these 2 factors.
Our body is designed to move. During the shutdowns/restrictions, more people have had less physical activity. In addition, people working at home have not had the same ergonomic workstations. For example, sitting all day on the couch is not going to help your back vs a proper chair and desk.
Secondly, high levels of stress can really impact our spine as well. We often carry a lot of emotional stress in our upper spine and neck. People losing their jobs or struggling financially has had a huge impact on their health as well. The Lack of socialization or visiting loved ones on a regular basis can cause a lot of emotional issues.
Thankfully, we are seeing warmer temperatures now. In addition, the gyms are finally open. We can now find easier ways to start exercising again. This will greatly benefit your spine and your health.
If you are experiencing any of these health issues, give us a call and we can help you! Chiropractic care can release the stress you are feeling and really help you feel better. I have seen this occur daily with the patients I see everyday.
